Claude → ChatGPT

Switch from Claude to ChatGPT without losing your history

ChatGPT has no native way to import your Claude history. Move My Chat bridges that: your official Claude export becomes a set of folders ChatGPT can read, with your project knowledge files and conversations intact.

How the move works

  1. 01

    Export your Claude history

In Claude, open Settings → Privacy → Export data. A .zip arrives by email, containing your conversations and your Projects — including the knowledge files attached to each one.

  2. 02

    Repack it here

Drop the .zip into Move My Chat. It reads your export in this browser tab and rebuilds it into clean folders — one per project, with knowledge files and conversation transcripts — plus import instructions written for ChatGPT.

  3. 03

    Unpack it in ChatGPT

ChatGPT Projects keep your uploaded files and custom instructions in one place. Create a project, add the pack’s knowledge files and transcripts, and paste the project overview into the instructions. ChatGPT caps files per project, so on a large history lead with knowledge files and recent chats.

Nothing uploaded

Your Claude history never leaves your browser

Move My Chat isn’t a memory service and it doesn’t keep a copy of your chats. Your export is opened, repacked, and downloaded entirely on your own device — no account, no upload, no subscription. The difference from memory platforms is the whole point.
